Shouldn't men's and ladies' caps be "squared off" instead of being stuck on the back of the head like a baseball cap?  Thanks, Confused About Caps

You can usually tell the former military yachting folks by how they wear their hats.   It is hard to get people that have not been in the service to do it right.  Wearing the hat squared on your head shows the proper courtesy and respect for your club, other clubs, our fellow yachtsmen and the hobby of yachting.  That is the whole point of ceremonies and uniforms.

Another way of looking at it is, shipshape yachting attire reflects our dedication to keeping our boats shipshape, smart-looking and safe.
